To boost up the local employment in the state of Odisha, government going to start its new scheme with the name of Odisha Homestay Scheme. With the help government also boot the tourism in the state. This scheme is started from this year to till next five financial year like 2029-30. Aim to launch this scheme is to boost the local jobs and also the tourism in the Odisha State. After the implementation of this scheme, now tourist can stay in the homes of the local people in the rural areas. With this scheme, tourist will also get the chance to stay in the house of the local people and also know the places of the Odisha which till date are not popular.
This scheme is also promote homestay accommodation in the house of the rural area people and local communities also encourage to participate in the tourism. They will provide the cultural and rural experiences to the peoples who comes from outside of the state. Now this scheme is implemented in the state and continue till next five financial year i.e. 2029-30.
Odisha Homestay Scheme 2025
State Government of Odisha Launched the Homestay Scheme for Tourist and provide the incentive to the local to setup the same homestay in their land. After the announcement of this scheme, now this is implemented in all over the state. under this scheme every eligible local will allow to set up the residential units in their places for the tourists. To setup these residential units under Homestay Yojana, government going to provide them financial incentive. By getting the financial help from the side of government they all are eligible to setup the new residential units in the Schedule Gram Panchayat of the state.

This Homestay scheme is implemented by the Tourism Department with District Administration and Partnership Department of the state. Government having the plan to built total 450 new units for residences with 1800 beds. Eligibility Criteria
- This scheme is launched for the permanent citizen of the Odisha state.
 - All that citizen who are residing in the schedule Gram Panchayat of the state.
 - They must having the age above 18 years. There is no upper age limit.
 - You have the Aadhar Card which is linked with your Bank account.
 - You don’t have any kind of criminal background, then you will be eligible for the scheme.
 - You also have clear land ownership in your name.
 - Applicant also having the valid lease agreement for the land in which they are going to construct the homestay.
 - Your land must be free from all kind of legal dispute.
 
Ineligible
- All that citizen who having above said eligibility criteria but in Government or Central Government job are not eligible for the scheme.
 - If you have any kind of legal dispute over land, or under encumbrances, then you are not eligible for the scheme.
 
Financial Incentive Benefits
Under this scheme every eligible applicants will get the only one time financial incentive under this homestay scheme. The benefits is given upto 50% of the Fixed capital investment, in which all kind of expenses included.
Rs.2.5 Lakhs incentive will be given to the rented house in which total 4 rooms applicable. The maximum incentive amount which is given to homestay applicant is Rs.10 Lakhs. Total 50 Crore budget for 2025-26 will be allocated by the government.

 - At District Level: District Level Committee, this committee will going to play very important role in this scheme. because this is going to scrutinising the application, auditing on sport and recommend the incentive to the applicants.

 - If you wants to apply offline, then you need to visit your nearest Ama Seba Kendra and collect the application form.
 - After visiting the portal, in the citizen services section, you have to click on Homestay Scheme and then click on apply online.
 - Here the Homestay scheme application form open in front of you.
 - Fill this form with your details like Name, Address, category, age, Aadhar Card Number, Bank account Details and number.
 - Enter the details of site or property where you wants to setup your homestay.
 - Then upload all the documents and submit.
 - Then your application form is reviewed by the authority with documents, site etc and then recommended for incentive under this scheme.
