AP Universal Health Insurance Policy Scheme
Recently, during the cabinet meeting, is new scheme was launched for the welfare of the citizens of the Andhra Pradesh state. Under this scheme, all the citizens who are already eligible under Ayushman Bharat and NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme will get the free medical services up to Rs 25/- Lakhs per year. After the implementation of this scheme, more than 1.63 Crore families are going to participate in this scheme as per their economic status.
All the beneficiaries’ families can avail medical treatment at of cost in 2,493 Hospitals which are implemented with the scheme. The system, which is streamlined pre-authorisation, will ensure approval for any treatment within 6 hours. In this scheme, if the medical claim is up to Rs 2.5 Lakhs, then the case will be handled by the Insurance company. But if the medical case is more than Rs 2.5 Lakhs to Rs 25 Lakhs, then the same is borne by the NTR Vaida Seva Program Trust. After the implementation of this policy all over the state, 1.3 Crore families who belong to the EWS category will get benefits and 20 Lakhs other families will going to get benefits under the scheme.

Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh state Chandrababu Naidu, during the cabinet meeting, approved the insurance policy for the citizens of the state under which they can receive the healthcare services at of cost up to Rs 25 Lakhs per year.
This new Universal Health Insurance policy also provides their services under Ayushman Bharat and DR NTR Vaidya Seva Scheme.
If the healthcare treatment is up to Rs 2.5 Lakhs, then it will be managed by the Insurance company, and if the treatment is up to Rs 25/- Lakhs, then it will be handled by the Dr. NTR Vaida Seva Trust.
In the Universal Health Scheme, AP will approve the treatment of the patient within 6 hours and then get admitted to the hospital. Then all the related transactions of the patient will be closed in 15 days.
Patient will also get the QR Code, which is managed by the Control room, which is set up under the NTR Vaidya Seva Trust. With the help of QR Code, patient can stay updated with all the details about them and can also monitor their services.

The families who are BPL, i.e. Below Poverty Line, will get the insurance coverage of Rs 25 Lakhs per year.
