Type of Kanyashree Scholarship

The benefit provided under the scheme depends upon the type of scheme in which you applied:

Annual Scholarship K1	This is the annual scholarship known with the name of Kanyashree K1, which is Rs 750 per year, will be provided to the beneficiary.
One-Time Grant Kanyashree K2	This is also a part of this scholarship, in which a one-time grant will be provided to the beneficiary girl that is Rs 25000.
Kanyashree K3 Scholarship	This is the 3rd type of scholarship in which Rs 2500 will be given to science stream girls and Rs 2000 to Arts stream girls per month.

Objective of Kanyashree Scheme

• The primary objective of Kanyashree Prakalpa is to promote girls’ education till the age of 18. This will help girls to complete their secondary or equivalent vocational/technical training.
• This scheme also helps to prevent child marriages. That will help to reduce maternal and child mortality, pregnancy and malnutrition.
• In this scheme, the financial support amount will be credited directly into the girl’s bank account, so she can easily make decisions about their funds.

Eligibility Criteria

• The applicant should be a permanent resident of West Bengal.
• Applicant girl should be enrolled in a regular attending government-recognised educational Institute or a sports institute.
• The family’s annual income is not more than Rs 1,20,000.
• If a girl has any type of disability, has lost their parents, or lives in a child care institute under the Juvenile Justice Act, then this income condition is waived off.
