Government of Tamil Nadu with Education Department of State launched the new education initiative scheme for the students of the state with Thiran Scheme. This scheme is specially targeted the students to provide them help and improve their academic remediation. This program is started from the month of July 2025 and provide the benefits to the students of class 6th to 8th. To improve the education system in the government school this effort has been made. To improve the progress in English, Math and Tamil, Education department started this scheme for the students in month of July 2025.
Before the implementation of this scheme, survey has been conducted in the starting the academic session for the year in June 2025. This survey included the students of the state who don’t meet with the minimum education level with the proper standard of the education. So the scheme is working parallel with the duration of the school. The benefits also be provided them in the same school hours and they come to know about the gap between their education system. The duration of this initiative is about 6 months.

There are so many students of the state from class 6 to 8 who having bridge of Gap with their basic education. And the monthly review also be conducted by the authority district level to check the progress of this scheme.

Motive of scheme
The main motive to implement this scheme in the state is to improve the quality of education of the students, so that they can attain and learn all the basic level of the studies. The scheme is going to provide its benefits for upcoming 6 months, which is started from July 2025. And then the progress report of this coaching will be taken in the September. This scheme is work for the students for 6 months during the school hours and they will get the special coaching to improve their basic skills of learning, writing and studying.
Features of Scheme
With the directions of the CM of the state, School Education Department launched this Thiran Scheme to provide the help to improve the academic. This scheme is provide the benefits to the students from class 6th to 9th.
The Chief Minister of the state also released the workbook which provide the coaching of the scheme.
In this scheme the teachers of the school will have to select the students who are facing the difficulties to learn, write and read the basic of the subject wise like Tamil, Math’s and English. And they get the 6 month coaching to make focused on the same things.
Before run this scheme, government conduct state level survey in the students of class 3rd, 4th and 8th students. In which government comes to know about the lack of reading, writing and basic skills of Math’s.
This scheme is implemented on all High and Higher Secondar Schools.
How Thiran Scheme 2025 Work?
While Making the announcement of this scheme, Chief Minister also released its workbook which helpful for the Remedial Coaching given under this scheme.
Then with the plan of the scheme, every class teachers will have to identify the students who are struggling with the basic study like Read, write and solving the basic math’s problems.
Knowing the students with such problems, then select them to provide this remedial coaching and teachers focus them for 6 months.
Then the progress of these students also be assessed by the officials every month. After the 6 month of progress if they need it more, then they again go under this coaching from September to February 2025.

The work book which is specially released for the students who are selected with this scheme is prepared by the SCERT ( The state Council For Education Research and Training.
This is very good remedial coaching scheme in which students will learn the basic method to solve their basic problems of education.
With the help of this scheme, government also wants to improve the education quality among the students who are week in study.
By this initiative scheme, teachers can improve the learning skills, reading, writing and basic Math’s problem solving skills of the students.
