The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, Mr. MK Stalin, launched the new scheme, the name Mudhalvar Marundhagam Scheme, under which the benefits of Generic Medicines will be given on subsidised rates in the state. At the time of making the announcement of this scheme, CM also inaugurated more than 1000 pharmacy stores all over Tamil Nadu State. He said that all kinds of medicines are available at these Chief Minister Pharmacies with a discount up to 75 percent. Apart from it, the scheme is also providing benefits to all the qualified pharmacists of the state. Among these 1000 pharmacies the 500 will be run by the cooperative societies of the state, and others are managed by entrepreneurs who are known as qualified pharmacists. These 100 pharmacist shops are part of the first phase of this scheme.
